Import single record from My Heritage gedcom
I have struggled in vain to accomplish this. I think I need step-by-step instructions please.

Re: Import single record from My Heritage gedcom
I think you could give us a few more clues.
Like ~ what is your overall objective, and what techniques have you tried that failed?
Are you exporting the GEDCOM from MyHeritage Family Tree Builder or from MyHeritage online?
Presumably, the 'single record' you want is for one Individual and any linked records such as wife, children, media, etc?
In MyHeritage Family Tree Builder the File > Export GEDCOM command allows you to Include only selected people so can you use that?
MyHeritage online does not seem to have a similar option.
So if using that you must create a New Project from the full GEDCOM and then use Export > GEDCOM File and Select who you want into a single person GEDCOM and then use that.
What do you intend to do with the single record? Perhaps merge it into your main Project?
Please confirm which of the above scenarios fits your requirements then we can give detailed steps.

Re: Import single record from My Heritage gedcom
OK that helps. I have a GEDCOM from MY Heritage online. I don't have My Heritage Family Tree Builder.
If I understand you correctly, I should export the person I want into a new project rather than try to import the person I want from the My Heritage GEDCOM which I sourced online.
Then I can open my working project and import that person from the new project I have created to allow this sort of information transfer.
Am I on the right track now?

Re: Import single record from My Heritage gedcom
Family Tree Builder is a free program from MyHeritage that installs on your Windows PC and synchronises with your MyHeritage online database. So if you are likely to want to migrate single records from MyHeritage from time to time then that may offer an easier method.
Another important consideration is whether you want to migrate Media images from MyHeritage to FH.
That is NOT possible from MyHeritage online but works well for Family Tree Builder.
See how_to:import_from_myheritage|> Import from MyHeritage (MYH) for full details.

See how_to:import_from_myheritage|> Import from MyHeritage (MYH) for full details.
Here are the steps for the MyHeritage online database migration of one record.
- Export the full GEDCOM file from the MyHeritage online database.
- In FH use File > Project Window > New Project... and Import a GEDCOM file from full GEDCOM above.
Untick Copy any linked multimedia files into the new project folder as there are none to copy. - Use File > Import/Export > Export > GEDCOM File... and Select... the Individual record you want, then click OK twice.
Make a note of where you save the exported single record GEDCOM file (probably in the Public folder). - Use File > Project Window > New Project... and Import a GEDCOM file from that single record GEDCOM file.
Note that as well as the Individual record there may be linked Source records, etc. - Carefully clean any UDF or other unwanted data as per how_to:import_from_myheritage|> Import from MyHeritage (MYH).
- In your working FH Project use File > Merge/Compare File... and select the GEDCOM file within the single record Project you have just cleaned. See glossary:merge_compare_files|> Merge/Compare File for further details of the process.
