Marking facts when verified

Post by WeefordHoldcroft's » 27 Jul 2020 14:20

I am trying to find a way to mark a fact in some way to denote I have verified the data and it is correct. ie a green tick or a star, same for individuals so I know what has been done so I can see clearly where I am up to. I cannot seem to find a topic that covers this problem. Any ideas?

This begs the question of what you mean by 'verified'.

Usually, a Fact can only be verified by a suitable Source document.
So if a Fact has a Source Citation then it has been verified and needs no further identification.
Thus, only Facts without a Source Citation still need to be verified.
i.e. Source Citations are perhaps the 'markers' you may be looking for.

The only other option would be to use a standard data field not used for any other purpose.
Candidates might be the Source Note which is visible in the yellow Source Citations pane, or some special labelled text in the Note field such as [[VERIFIED]]. More details can be provided if you are interested in this.

For whole Individuals you have extra options such as Record Flags and Named Lists.

You cannot use colours, or ticks, etc, except perhaps in Diagrams where those features would be conditional on one of the data settings discussed above.
