.... So now I'm deleting all my 'sent' of which there are nearly 5000 from the year dot ...
Probably too late - but I have a horrible feeling that this also deletes any saved "copy" of that mail - GMail only has one copy of a mail - all the "folders", including sent, are just views on the one mail.

Anyone wants to contradict me - please do.

You are almost certainly correct Adrian, but does anyone need to keep 5,000+ Emails going back to year dot?
Anyway, they only go to Trash until you empty that.

It gets worse! I couldn't find the trash bin and had to Google it to find it amongst the settings which I've now done and can see the bin and spam folders as well. So emptied everything from those as well.

I wonder, Mike how many other people are aware of Google's sneaky way of storing stuff you never wanted and thus filling your Drive storage?! :? :?

It's easy to filter mails by date and find all those earlier than a specific date see
https://it.fitnyc.edu/2014/05/23/gmail- ... tain-date/
for some examples.

Strange thing Mike, that special link you gave me to view my storage now says I've only used 0.03GB in Gmail, nothing used in drive or Photos.
You may have wondered why I had so much in sent but a lot of it had to do with the fact that several years ago I used yahoo as my email provider but it got hacked, so I moved the mail to GMail and in my ignorance forgot all about it, as well as not knowing that the trash bin wasn't showing.
However, the GD cloud in my taskbar still indicates 8GB of 15GB used?
Is now the time to move the project to Drive and to get One Drive off of C and on to E?

Sometimes it seems to take a while for all the Google Storage statistics to catch up.
If you click the Google white cloud icon and Visit Google Drive on the web where it shows My Drive, the Storage used should show a low value?

Before moving the Family Historian Projects folder we need to check its size.
Open Windows File Explorer and navigate to E:\Documents\Family Historian Projects.
Right-click Family Historian Projects choose Properties and check its Size on disk is well less that 15 GB.

Now select the E:\Documents folder in the left-hand pane and select Family Historian Projects in the right-hand pane.
There should be a Move to icon in the toolbar ribbon at the top that is a yellow folder with a blue arrow.
Click that Move to icon and select Choose location at the bottom of the dropdown list.
In the Move Items dialogue select the E:\Documents\Google Drive folder and click the Move button.
That should move the entire Family Historian Projects folder into the Google Drive folder.
Thus its final path will be E:\Documents\Google Drive\Family Historian Projects.

Now all those Project files will start being synced to Google Drive online.
Eventually, if you click the Google white cloud icon and Visit Google Drive on the web they will appear in My Drive.

Now open FH and in File > Project Window no Projects will be listed.
Next to Location click on E:\Documents\Family Historian Projects and select Choose Location....
Navigate to E:\Documents\Google Drive\Family Historian Projects and click OK.
All your Projects should now be listed, but right-click your preferred Project and select Set as Default Project so it gains a green tick.

My projects are less than 15GB.
However, I don't appear to have the yellow ribbon with the Move To command when I click on Family Historian Projects on the RHS? If I right-click the folder there is no move to there either but there is a Google Drive to which I can sync it?

In the screenshot below, it shows the Move to icon underlined in green at the top.
If that is not shown, then right-click Family Historian Projects and select Cut arrowed in green below.
Select Google Drive in the left-hand pane, then right-click in empty right-hand pane and choose Paste.
That is an alternative method to perform the folder move into Google Drive.
Thus the final path will be E:\Documents\Google Drive\Family Historian Projects.

Finally, complete the last two paragraphs that I posted earlier.

Thank you, Mike the cut and paste worked wonderfully and the GD cloud is working itself into a frenzy syncing the projects!
The 8GB storage has disappeared and now it's started from zero. :D :D :D :D :D

Hooray :D
Let Google Drive do its thing.
Change the FH File > Project Window > Location to E:\Documents\Google Drive\Family Historian Projects.
Reset your default Project.

When ready, start a new posting to review your use of C: and E: drive, OneDrive, etc.
But maybe wait a few days...

I've already changed FH file project window and I noted today that it has got today's date at 13.19 which is presumably when I did my last addition to my project?
