I'm using Family Historian 7.0.20 with GedSite 4.14
I've recently discovered that sources that have the following element in a FH source template definition <({URL}: accessed {Date})> seem to include the colon (:) as part of the URL once the HTML pages are created. The result is a URL that is not working when I publish my website.
Since the templates that I am using are Read/Only in FH, I am not able to change template to include a space before the colon (:).
One of these problematic source templates is the "Online Database" in the Advanced Collection.
Is this an FH or a GedSite issue and what can I do to solve it?
Thanks,
Gilles

Re: Invalid URL in FH Source Templates with GedSite
Welcome to the FHUG Gilles.
I have moved this posting to the Sources, Citations & Repositories forum where it fits better.
Apparently, ESM acknowledges that this is a problem (EE, p. 77):
*URL CITATION*
A colon -- preceded by a space and followed by a space -- separates the URL (the website publication address) from the date of publication (or date of access). The extra space inserted between the URL and the colon so that punctuation mark will not be perceived as part of the URL itself.
So that should be reported to Calico Pie via http://www.calico-pie.com/osticket/open.php so the template can be corrected.
In the meantime, use Tools > Source Template Definitions... and select the Advanced template you need to change, then click the Clone... button to create a Custom copy which you can edit. Then use Compare/Sync with Source Template Record... to update the Source Template in your Project.

Hi Mike,
Thank you for the prompt response.
Your advice provided a great temporary fix. A ticket has been opened with Calico Pie.
Hopefully, they will consider the suggested solution.

Hi,
Calico Pie has confirmed that they will add a space between a URL and the colon following it in the Advanced source templates accordingly in the next update.
