The KB artilce IrfanView needs updating, as it says that to read PDF files Irfanview requires Ghostscript for Windows to be installed. This is no longer the case. Discussion at the end of this topic Combining .jpg files together (20283) explains that the user must select Options > Properties & Settings > Plugins and then PDF Options (bottom right) , then tick Use New PDF.DLL option.
