Using Tools > Preferences > Navigation tab, I have set the Re-Use of Subwindows options to Never for Diagram windows, Multimedia windows and Report/Book windows.
This works as expected for Diagram windows, i.e. multiple windows can be opened one after the other without the need to lock them using the padlock symbol on the toolbar or the lock window option when right-clicking on the navigation bar. I think (although I havent done much checking) that it also works correctly for report/book windows.
However it doesnt seem to be working consistently for Multimedia windows. If a Multimedia window is already open but the Records window is currently being viewed and a record is selected there and the View Media for Selected Records is clicked on the toolbar, the Multimedia window is re-used (unless it has been manually locked).
On the other hand if the Multimedia window is currently being viewed and the forward/back arrows on the property box are used to navigate to a different record and the View in Multimedia button is clicked on the MM tab of the property box, the multimedia window is not re-used: a new one is opened. To add to the confusion I have noticed that in the latter case if there are already two or more MM windows open FH will usually open an additional one but sometimes it re-uses an earlier one (although it never re-uses the one that was currently being viewed). I havent been able to work out what determines this.
Can anyone shed any light?

Re-use of subwindows
Calico have confirmed this error and say it will be fixed in the next upgrade.
