Text Pedigree (Compressed)

I am a new user of FH, migrating over from TMGW.
(It's was a painless move over for the most part and there's things I'm tweaking to accomodate the years of habit I got into with TMGW.)
Anyway, I am looking to generating a text based compressed pedigree chart. I love using Notepad, word wrap off, to look at a chart with 15 generations on it. It's a convenient format.
Anyway, at the moment, all I could think of doing with what I know so far is to generate a query showing ahnentafel numbers.
Generate a spreadsheet with a sequence list of ahnentafel numbers out to my desired generation.
Then link the number in the spreadsheet with the name off the query report and create it via the brute force method.
The Ancestors by Generation output I can kind of work with, take notes on, etc. I'd just like it supplemented with a text based pedigree chart.
I'm wracking my brain trying to come up with an elegant mathematical forumula for my spreadsheet to generate the sequence for the number of generations I want.
But perhaps there's an easier way using the FH program that I haven't come across yet.
Any suggestions? (Other than using another software program?)
