data expression question

Post by BillH » 04 Jun 2012 21:19

In one of my captions I have specified =CombineText('(',%INDI.NAME.NICK%,')','').

This works great.  For example, for myself it displays my nickname in parenthesis like this: (Bill)

I'd really like to use double quotes instead of parenthesis so it would look like this:  'Bill'

I can't get this to work.  Is there some way to do this?

Thanks,

Bill

I don't think double quotes in a text constant is possible.
However, two single quotes ( or apostrophes ' ) look very similar in most fonts.
i.e. =CombineText('''',%INDI.NAME.NICK%,'''','')
would look like this:  ''Bill''
