Just started version 5 & very happy with it.
I was pleased to see that under Diagram Options, there is a pre-defined text scheme for census data, so I tried it. But the ages shown on the diagram are CALCULATED ages from birth (each age advancing by 10 years), not the ages recorded with the census FACT (age as recorded on census).
Under the heading 'Report Options Dialog: Contents Tab (Individual)' FH Help says 'If you have explicitly recorded a person's age at the time of an event or attribute, that age will be displayed'. Is this only true of reports, but not on the diagrams?
Am I misunderstanding something?

Currently the Expression used for Census Age is as follows:You can edit the Text Scheme and change it to:
Code: Select all
Age: %INDI.CENS[1+].DATE:AGE_AT%Code: Select all
Age: %INDI.CENS[1+].AGE%-

It is advisable to make sure the edited Text Scheme is created as a (custom) Text Scheme, if necessary Cloned from a standard scheme.
Then use File > Import/Export > Export > Diagram Text Scheme to keep a copy in your Project Public folder.
That way, in months and years to come you have a record of what was customised.

Thanks for that. I cloned the original & edited it under a new name. I had no idea I eithert should or could save the changes as you recommend. Is there somewhere I could read up about saving information, not just the usual backups when FH is exited?

You can export most custom settings using the File>Export menu in addition the http://www.fhug.org.uk/wiki/doku.php?id ... e_settings explains where the files are and recommends different ways of backing them up.
