On main laptop (windows 7) used for editing/updating, I have changed some of the estimates for ages.
I then sync(using synctoy) with another laptop (windows xp) which is only used really as another screen or back up. I also copy Family Historian from the application folder to the correct folder on this computer.
When I check the estimates on the XP laptop, estimates havent changed. The plugins are there and everything else.
thanks

Yes, Mel, many
Tools > Preferences settings are stored in the
Windows Registry and cannot easily be transferred from PC to PC.
See
Understanding the Scope of Features and how to
Move Family Historian Settings for further details.
If you have
FH V5.0 on both PC, then you might like to try the
Backup And Restore Family Historian Settings Work in Progress Beta Test Plugin.
This allows you to backup ALL settings on one PC, and transfer them to another PC, where they can be restored.
The Plugin has not yet been approved by
Calico Pie because of the potential risks to the
Windows Registry and the FH
ProgramData folder.
You have been warned!
I have tested it on XP (32-bit) and Vista (32-bit) and Windows 7 (64-bit) mainly to check the Registry Backup & Restore operations are consistent and compatible.
It has also been used to Backup/Restore FH Demo V3.0.1 and FH V4.1.3 and FH Beta/Full V5.0.0, sometimes with all three installed simultaneously.
There is a long discussion thread about it, with some satisfied users, to be found at
Backup/Restore FH Customisations.

Please see this article in the FHUG
Knowledge Base which explains that most
Preferences are stored in the Windows
Registry and thus are not easily synchronized between separate PCs:
http://www.fhug.org.uk/wiki/doku.php?id ... f_features
On my XP machine the relevant Registry Key is:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARECalico PieFamily Historian2.0Preferences
but modifying the Windows Registry is not recommended unless you have sufficient experience and, of course, take appropriate precautionary backups.
There is a
Work-in-Progress Plugin which may be suitable for the task, but I have not yet tried it myself:

{edit} Mike beat me to it, not for the first time!

Since you are running
FH V5.0 you should
NOT need the
Property Box Tab Organiser.
FH V5.0 has its own customise
Property Box Tab Rename/Delete/Move/Import/Export commands under the
More Tab Tasks button.
You can delete all the files associated with this standalone download (it is not a Plugin).
It was only needed to support
FH V4.1 customised
Property Box Tabs.
