Wishlist after FH5 and AS3

A little while ago I put together a spreadsheet with all the wishlist items on it.
I have now put this list onto Google documents and have made it so that anyone can edit it, sort it filter it etc. (I'm aware of the danger of it getting corrupted - I've done some backups but I'm sure people will treat it and other's comments with respect).
To help Jane maintain the Wishlist, I propose that people look at my sheet and note any items that have been included in FH5, a plugin or AS3 (or not) and update the YES/NO value.
After a few weeks hopefully the results will be clear and it will be apparent what can be closed - and what we need to start badgering Simon for V6 [wink]
You'll see that I've made a start and put what I think have been completed or not. If I'm wrong, please change it.
If you think the item is not to come off the list, please also say so.

I know this spreadsheet has been available to Beta Testers for a while.
I wonder if it might be better implemented in the Knowledge Base somehow, perhaps in a Wiki Table.
This would make it just as public and shareable, but would also automatically backup any changes with a version history.

Good idea.
This was intended as a temporary thing to see where we are post V5.
I don't have good experiences with anything Wiki so cling on to what I know.
I'm perfectly happy if you can get it to be housed within FHUG
and I'll edit/delete the url

Here is my first attempt, but the snag is it's rather more difficult to update than a spreadsheet!
Example Wish List Review
Perhaps Jane has some ideas of how to improve it?

Erm, I can't seem to update it at all.

Chris: you need to login to the wiki page and then scroll to the bottom and click Edit.

Sorry - still having problems
Have forgotten all old log in details so set up as new user.
Still can't see an EDIT option - is it because its in PLAYGROUND or am I doing something stoopid?

Does that mean you found the Edit buttons top right and way down bottom right, and the Edit this page link top left?
I re-arranged the column layout to make it easier for the YES/NO votes to be edited against the correct entry.
I removed the Comments column, firstly to save space, and secondly because all changes are logged in Old revisions via the link with the same name way down bottom left.
If this KB Wiki approach is unacceptable, then it could simply become the hyperlink to your shared spreadsheet.

I last went into the Wiki in 2006 according to the emails it sent back.
Since then, new computer and a rearrangement of email addresses, means I can't get into the old userid. The new userid I set up last night, I cannot edit, unless Jane makes it so.
One day I'm going to have to get to grips with userid and password set up. I made it all so confusing with FHUG/Calico Pie setups that once Simon had to email me!
I'm writing to Jane to see if my old userid of cambiz (or is it Cambiz or even Cambizz???) can be resurrected.
That actually leads me to a point. I know it is in the sandbox at the moment, but when it is put in the KB, will FHUG users be able to edit it or will they have to apply to get FHUG Wiki userid/passwords to be able to edit it? I suspect many will not do this.
I also do not want to increase Jane's workload - especially as the task is supposed to decrease it.

I think there were some plans to make FHUG and KB Wiki Username and Password the same, but that has not happened.
I know Jane is working on moving the entire FHUG site into the Wiki, when that problem will vanish.
Only fairly recently has Jane personally had to enable write access to the KB Wiki, prompted by some rogue users who disrupted the Wiki data.
So, yes, at present, FHUG users will have to create a KB Wiki Username and Password, which they do themselves, but then write access has to be enabled by Jane.
You may be right, that for this Wish List Review it is better left as a shared spreadsheet.
Although, as Plugins get written, it may need regular updating.

The spreadsheet can be a one off exercise then. The Wiki WL list just a nice way to summarize the wishlist.
I think it could benifit from table sort and filter and some kind of fast tab to take mac users straight to that wish list item.

Unfortunately, the KB Wiki does not support any sort or filter options that I am aware of - Jane may have some ideas?
Not sure what you mean by 'some kind of fast tab'.
Just click on any Wish List Entry Title to open the Wish List Entry itself.

Draft final retain/close proposal
Retain - where the functionality still does not exist in FH and a need for it is seen by FHUG members
Close - functionality has been included in FH or a reasonable associated application OR lack of interest OR serious objection to the wish

I have removed the KB Wiki entry, and given the online Wishlist spreadsheet a thorough review.
This has identified a few fairly simple Plugins that could Close some Wishlist entries.
