v5 Download cost

Post by IainA » 31 Mar 2012 22:38

I went on the website to download the full version 5 (not upgrade) rather than buying a boxed copy. I was amazed to find that the cost of the download is actually more than boxed copies from S&N (free postage) and My History!

With most software I've ever bought, downloads are much cheaper than boxed copies as there are less costs for the publisher.

No idea why FH would fly in the face of logic and offer an electronic copy at a higher price than to send out a box/disc/booklet all with postage.

I'll be buying the boxed version, but if anyone else is about to buy then I'd advise checking the costs of all suppliers first.

I noticed the same thing when I brought my copy before christmas.
I ordered some other software last week from another company and it was £1 cheaper by post and had free delivery!

Odd! I received my boxed set yesterday from S and N and had to pay £2.95 p&p. That said, when you get a regional resource book and cd free with it and pay £34.50 plus p&p I'm not complaining.( but I'd still like to know why I paid for p&p if I could have avoided it!)

Sorry I meant free postage at TWR not S&N, which is £2.95.
