I have had a quick look at v5, and had a look a fan charts as I have been looking forward to them. They look really good. I was wondering if it is possible to rotate font to fit better on the outer generations. I can't see a way, but I may be missing something.

This feature was discussed late on during Beta Testing, but too late to be added to FH V5.

There is a member Diagram Type in the Downloads that offers a 5th generation solution.
See 5 Sideways which will also be added to the Knowledge Base soon.

It's also possible to build complex charts completely from scratch if you want see

for a couple of examples, Fancy Fan and 'My Family Tree'.

To add a bit of explanation, those two examples use the new Diagram Background Picture feature and then populate the empty spaces with fan boxes and text boxes respectively.

I didn't realise the text boxes were so powerful and could pull dynamic data. Time to have a play!
