Speech recognition

Post by Dagwood » 11 Jan 2012 09:45

I'm interested in using SR as an alternative to lengthy typing sessions and would like to know if anyone has used this in conjunction with freebie text editing applications? I do not have Word and at the moment have Open Office . I know that Windows 7 supports SR without buying any additional SR software and have played around with W7 and my Skype camera/mike setup ( ie getting W7 to recognise my voice). At the moment though I don't have anywhere to convert my speech into text. Any advice most welcome.

Thanks Jane, It does not seem to work as easily as the link indicates but for the moment I'm putting that down to an inadequate mike and will try again when the new one arrives.
