From my Project File FH will print my tree with photos on umpteen pages of A4. I want to ask a specialist printer to print the tree plus photos on one big sheet. It can't be as simple as supplying him with a copy of the Project File, can it?

Yes, that's pretty well it, you send the Project file and your saved chart file and both My History and Genealogy Printers can take a Project folder with a chart file so they know what to print.
If you use a custom text scheme, you might need to include that as well.

Jane, that's very interesting, is there a preferred format that printers usually like eg PDF, jpeg or Tiff etc?

If you use a specialist you just send your Project (or a cut down version of it), plus your fhc file for the layout you want.
If you are using a general office printer (or getting someone you know to print it for you) then save it as a PDF for best results.
