Some advice please.
I am compiling a tree for a cousin, she told me of an 'Ancestry One World Tree' that had many points of contact with people that I know are part of her line. I have been able to verify many people, dates etc.
I would like to know how to handle people that I have names & dates for but I cannot verify that they are part of the family line or even existed. I normally delete unproven data but this would leave some families with no links to the whole.
At the end I will be creating a CD for her and I have been trying to find a way of creating a source for these 'un-proven people' so the they can be inspected in the downloads if required.
I am sorry if I have rambled a bit.

One possibility is to set a flag for 'questionable' individuals. Then you can use that flag to set e.g. a different Box Shape in Diagram Options - Boxes so that it is obvious on a diagram that such individuals differ from the verified family members.

I do the same as PeterR.
I have a flag for 'probable link' and then, using thism flag, arrange that all people with this flag have a dotted line around their box instead of a solid one. I do, of course, link them to their probable place in the tree.

You could also use the ancestry world tree as a source (unreliable or questionable)
This would make it easy to search for records attached to that source.
When proven, the source could then be removed.

Thanks for the advice, I have already been using an 'Ancestry One World Tree' source and included the various derived Descendant Trees in the source Multimedia.
I think that I will also create the 'Un-Proven Link Flag.
I don't really like having any person or data that dosen't have some sort of proof.
