The current problems with FH and McAfee have caused me to think about where things are saved. I have FH also on a laptop which I have disconnected from the internet so I can continue working.
I copied my whole Family Historian Projects folder to a memory stick to use on the laptop. As far as I can see everything is there, including all my photos. The only thing missing is the diagram icons I created from flags for things like marriage certificates etc. The flag note is still with the individual in the list in the records window but the icon does not show on the diagram.
Is this caused by the version on the laptop being V4.0.2 and the one on the desktop being V4.1.3? Or is it because the flags and icons are stored somewhere other than the FH Projects folder?

Thanks very much, I did look but couldn't find that. I have copied the Calico Pie folder over and there's good news and bad!
Good news is that a couple of 'new' flags I had made are now listed with the individuals
Bad news is that the icons still don't show on the diagrams!
Ah well, hopefully the problem with McAfee will be sorted out soon.

If the icons are ones that you created/downloaded yourself, then they could be anywhere on your PC.
View the Diagram, and use Diagram > Options > Boxes.
Select the Condition and Edit Features and tick the Icon option where the missing Icon should be.
Click the <<Select button, and the popup window should default to the folder where the icons should reside.
Now you can copy them from your PC to your laptop.
Also, it would be better to move them into your Project folder in a folder called Icons.
Alternatively, now you know about it, you can move them into the Calico PieFamily HistorianIcons folder.
The how to Move Family Historian Settings also needs updating to mention this tip about Icons.

Thanks for that Tatewise. However only one icon is one I created myself (and I knew that might not travel!). The others are all spots of various colours provided by FH. Its a mystery now to me that they don't show up on the diagrams on the laptop.

Anne,
Did you also move the Diagram Settings as recommended in the above link to Move Family Historian Settings?

Yes, Ann, did you check the Diagram > Options > Boxes > Conditions as I suggested.
If the settings for the Icons are not there, then I suspect you have changed one of the Four Standard Diagrams that are stored in the Registry.
These can only be retrieved after FH is working again on your desktop by saving them as Custom Diagram Types as explained in:

Ah! I see what you mean. I can recreate the icons on the laptop diagrams so they match the ones on the PC by adding each flag to the Diagrams>Options>boxes section. I was always able to do that.
However I am still surprised that they didn't move with the FH Project folder since the icons are there and I haven't created any custom diagrams. I thought that was the point of the Project folder - keeping it all together!
No matter, I'm just playing around while I wait for the McAfee problem to sort out! Thanks for your help.

Although V4 Projects are a step in the right direction, they do not store the FH customisations of Tools > Preferences, Diagrams, Queries, Fact Sets, etc, etc.
As you have discovered these are stored in the Calico PieFamily Historian folder, or in the Windows Registry.
There is a Wish List item Localise Settings to Projects that you can vote for that asks for what you expected at:
