Christening Certificates

Post by Johnyeates » 11 Sep 2011 17:47

Hi Guys,
Some advice please,
I have some original Christening and Confirmation certificates and also some photocopies. Thers are kept in a folder in a cupboard, also as scans within FH Media.
What would you call the Repository?
Parish records? - because the items I have are really copies of the Parish Records.
I say that BDM certificates come from The General Record Office - although the copies are in the cupboard and computer.
What does everybody else do?

Yes, if the original information comes from Parish Records, then the Repository should identify those Parish Records.
Perhaps with details of which Parish, and the Church address, phone number, web site, etc.
That would need a different Repository Record for each Parish with the Parish or Church Name as its Title.
You could add a Note to say where you keep your folder.
