Submitters - how to use ?

Post by gbrowne » 08 Sep 2011 16:18

I can see that the submitter records would be very useful to keep the details of say, a regular correspondent with whom you exchange documents, photos etc. However, whilst I can easily create submitters in the record window, I can't see how you link them to a particular source or multimedia record ?

Can anyone help please ?

Cheers,
Geoff.

Submitters - how to use ?

The problem with Submitter records is that they can only be linked to Family and Individual records, plus the header, this is because of the way they are used by the Church of the Latter Day Saints. who developed the gedcom standard.

See:[wiki]glossary:special_records[/wiki]

Personally I now use Repositories to store people's basic details, which can in turn be linked to sources and from there to anything I fancy pretty well. I also have a matching submitter record with the website, emails etc.
