I have 2 problems :-
Problem 1. When writing to CD the importing person can read all the reports and see all of the pictures BUT :-
autorun does not work ..I have checked and this points to the start file.
The start file does not work I have tried compatabilty mode all administrator rights and even investigation.
Is this because I am running 64bit Windows 7 ??if so how do I get round this ??
Problem 2
I cannot seem to find where to write to CD the Family Tree diagrams. Is this possible or am I not looking in correct place ??
Thanks
John

1. Autorun can be problematic with Windows 7 dependant on your settings, personally I always turn off autorun on any PCs I use. One work around is to add an html page to the root directory call clickme.html or similar with a link to the index.htm page in the folder this has the advantage that it makes the CDs easier to use on Macs as well.
2. Currently the best way to include diagrams is to save them as jpgs and add them via the 'picture' option.

There is a Knowledge Base article on how to Make a Family Tree CD or Website at:
http://www.fhug.org.uk/wiki/doku.php?id ... amily_tree
That may give you some useful advice.
Problem 1:
I am running Windows 7 64-bit and the start.exe appears to work fine.
You should NOT need Administrator rights nor Compatibility Mode.
In the above article, under Tips and Tricks and Popups there is CD Adaptations for Apple Mac tip for adding a start.html file that will also work onMS Windows.
Problem 2:
You can include diagrams as separate images or downloads.
See the above subsection on Step 4 Add Items for Table of Contents.

I sympathise with your comments regarding 64-bit, but all 32-bit applications should run OK, and 64-bit only really comes into its own for intensive applications and those with very large memory requirements.
When say start.exe does not work, are you running it directly from a CD or from the FH ...PublicFH CD folder?
Are you sure that the data sub-folder is correctly in place on the CD?
Does double-clicking the dataindex.html file work OK?

Personally I have been using 64bit OS's a good while having used X64 XP, Vista and now Windows. Although most applications are still 32bit, the memory management of 64 really helps when you have lots of memory on the computer (currently I run with 8Gb ram on my main system).
The autorun issue is the same with 32bit 7 and is tied to the security features of IE as well.
