Wrong Fonts in Property Dialog Box v.2.2.4
I've been using v. 2.2.4 for a day now and it's GREAT! I have to use the Central European fonts - figured out quickly how to change the defaults for the Records Window and the Diagrams, but can't find a way to change the font in the Properties dialog box. Both the data (e.g. surnames) and the box title (e.g. Individual: Jan ¯emek) display 'wrong' characters (i.e. Western subset equivalents of the required Central European set. Any way to change it (e.g. is there an .ini file or something?)[The surname in my example should have a dot over a capital Z - you'll see it in this post if you enable Central European encoding of your browser]
Thanks for any tips.

Andrew - there isn't a way to change the font in the Property Dialog at present; although clearly something needs to be done to handle the issue you've raised. For now, the best thing I can suggest is to switch to the 'All' tab of the Property Dialog and use fields there (click in the right-column to edit fields) when you need to enter an accent character that is not properly handled in the other tabs. The 'All' tab will use whatever font you set for the Records Window.
Incidentally you can add fields in the All tab by right-clicking in the left-column and choosing options from the 'context' menu that appears.

Many thanks for the quick answer Simon. I'll try your tips.
Have you though of 'Language (regional) versions' for the future? If so I can be of help.

thanks for the offer. May well take you up on that in the future.
Family Historian supports most Western European languages, but we would like to support more.

one further thing. I don't suggest that you do this, because it might have all sorts of knock-on effects that you might not like - but if you changed your computer's International settings, to specify your country as being the one that uses the language you are having a problem with (e.g. Hungarian, let's say) I think there's a good chance that the Property dialog would start showing the font correctly.
If by any chance you decide to try this out, (I'm assuming your computer isn't already set to 'Hungarian' of course), I would be very interested to know what the result was. If you do try it, you might want to 'create a restore point' first using 'System Restore' if you know how to do that (I'm assuming you're using XP - if not, much of the above may not apply).
Of course, even if it did work, it wouldn't necessarily solve the problem as you might then find that other languages which had been OK (french accents let's say) no longer appeared correctly. The best solution for all these kinds of things is for F.H. to use Unicode (a sort of all-language character set). Thats on the Wish List.

forgot to mention that Jane (Taubman)pointed out that you can set the font for all dialog captions centrally; so you could at least solve that part of it that way (right-click on the desktop and select Properties, then choose the Appearance tab and click Advanced - at least, this works in Windows XP).

Simon and Jane,
Thanks for your tips. I found the following solution to the problem (in Windows XP):
Start > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Advanced (tab). In the first big box 'Language for non-Unicode programs' select from a drop-down list the language of which the fonts are not displaying properly (e.g. Polish). Make sure that the relevant tick box is marked in the other big box 'Code page conversion tables'. Requires computer restart.
