Showing Stepchild in All Relatives Tree

Looking for some help, I am creating a Family Tree for a friend as a gift, however I have a problem in showing his brother's stepdaughter in the way the brother wishes it to be shown.

The brother is divorced from his first wife, they had no children, he married his second wife, who was also married previously and had one child. (following me so far!!). He has 2 children by his second wife

On the tree he wants to show his current wife's ex-husband and the daughter.

Using the All Relatives Tree, which is fine for everyone else, I have inserted a diagram for the second wife and ex-partner, then hidden the second wife on the overlayed diagram and manually inserted the connection, however this now shows the daughter descended from her father only and the daughter is not at the same 'level' as his 2 children.

The tree when completed will be going to a 3rd party for printing.

Is there an easy way to resolve this or are we looking at a exceptional circumstance which cannot be addressed by the software.

Have you tried centring the diagram on your brother and current wife as a couple, eg select them both and then select diagram?

(1) Do NOT Hide the second wife in the sub-tree.
Select her box and reduce it size by adjusting the handles on the sides.
Use the Movement Control Box to move this sub-tree so that her box sits over her box in the main tree.
Use Diagram > Order > Send to Back to put her sub-tree box behind her main tree box.
You may have to use the Fixed Point option in the Movement Control Box to move her and her first husband apart in the sub-tree.
You may have to use the Shift Boxes: Spouse Box option in the Movement Control Box to swap her and her first husband around.

(2) Use the Box & Bar option in the Movement Control Box to adjust the daughter until level with the 2 children.

(3) Be prepared to re-adjust some of the above if either of the trees are altered.

Suggestion works fine the layout ondiagram is as wanted, except when I save it as a PDF document it moves the ex-husband under the wifes box. Have I missed something?

try setting the printer for the chart as the PDF printer and check your positioning before you select save as.

I went through Tatewise's suggested solution, and this time it worked and saves OK as a PDF document. I think I missed the Fixed Point setting for the sub-tree to move them apart.

I am now happy with outcome and have learned more about juggling diagrams around, so will be more prepared if similar issue arises again.

Thanks Jane and Tatewise for the help given
