Missing Property Dialog button

Post by TimS » 04 Jul 2011 17:07

I have v.4.1.3 installed on a Windows 7 laptop and a Windows 7 desktop via CDs, v.2 with CD backed uninstaller and v.3 and v.4 upgrades.
I've noticed that there are 6 buttons ('Main' etc) on the top of the laptop Property Dialog window but only 5 on the desktop, 'Detail' being missing.
Can I get it back?
I suspect a corrupt program as it has frozen on a couple of occasions recently. If so, then I must uninstall and reinstall FH, but to avoid the rigmarole of using my 3 CDs, can I copy over the FH folder from my laptop to the desktop and use this?

The Detail tab is the Version 3 Compatibility option.
This tab is disabled by default in V4 and imitates the V3 Detail tab.

To enable this tab, open the Property Box and click icon near top right named Menu and choose Customize.
Click on the Version 3 Compatibility button at the bottom and click OK.

To disable this tab, in the same Customize Property Box window, select Tab: Detail and click Delete Tab button.

You cannot install FH by copying folders from one PC to another.
If there is a corruption it may be in the Registry, which is not corrected by the file copy.

The only solution to the V2+V3+V4 install is buy a Full V4 licence.

Very many thanks for this. All is well now. Most grateful.
I was a bit naive to think I could get round the problem the way I suggested!

Your original posting said that FH has frozen on a couple of occasions.
Are there particular circumstances when this happens?
Like when displaying Diagrams or Reports.

There is some suggestion that this can happen either when there are a lot of (large) images/photos involved, or when the printer driver has not been installed and appropriate settings configured in the FH File > Print Setup option.
