Inserting text box

Post by joe_charters » 29 Jun 2011 15:42

I am able to select the text box and insert the text required, when completed I select 'save' to save the text box, then, when I attempt to close the chart down, a window comes up 'save changes to diagram' Click yes, a further widow comes up 'save diagram as chart' and asks for a new chart name, at this point I enter the original name of the chart and I have also entered a new chart name in both cases when I close the chart down then reopen the chart the text box which I had entered has not been saved and has disappeared off the chart.
I have Family Historian Ver. 4.1.3 and running it on Windows 7.
Also when I initially purchased Family Historian Ver. 4 and loaded it into my computer each time I logged into Family Historian it required the keying in of the registration key, to overcome this annoying little problem I had to run it on an earlier version of Windows, which I am still doing.

I think may be confusing charts with diagrams.

When you re-open the chart please can you confirm you are using menu View>Saved Chart and selecting your chart from that menu and not simply creating a new diagram using the diagram buttons?

The problem with the license not taking:
Try turning off any anti spy/spam/virus ware and try starting FH with admin turned on, some combinations of these software prevent the key being recorded correctly.
