Hi, I've recently entered spouse details for the wife of my Gt Uncle but when I looked at his record today, he appears to have the detail showing 3 times.
How did I do That?
I've tried to delete it from his record and start again but it removed his wife's name in entirety from the Individual record list.
I was able to reverse the action by closing Historian and when asked if I wanted to keep the changes, I clicked 'No' which enabled me to keep her details listed.
How do I manage to get Spouse details showing only once please?
Barbara.

I suspect you have probably merged some data, and forgotten to check the Family Records.
The quick fix is to View the Families tab and find you Uncle and select both Family Records and use Edit/Merge Records to merge them.
You can check to see if you have more using the Duplicate Spouses Query which can be downloaded from:

Hi jane,
Thanks for the reply but I'm afraid I'm still a bit of a novice when it comes to tackling some of the workings in Family Historian.
In view of that, can I ask you to be patient and tell me step by step how to carry out the instructions you gave me.
How/where do I find the Family tab and how do I select the names of his spouse and merge them with my Gt Uncle's record.
Sorry to be a bit of a numpty.
Barbara.

From the menu View/Record Lists/Family Records
Click Ok to the not normally shown message.
Type your uncles surname in the find box and find his records.
I expect there will be 3. Select the first two by clicking on the first and CTRL clicking on the second.
Select Edit/Merge Records from the menu and follow the screen prompts. If in doubt press the help button, or read the chapter in the Book for Merging records.
I have added a short video in the Knowledge Base to help with this.

Hello Jane, sorry to be a bit late with a 'Thank you' for your instructions. PC problems I'm afraid.
Hopefully they're now sorted and I'm going to view the video link etc and sort these marriage duplications out.
Cheers
Barbara.
