Help please, I realised that I had entered the some members of the same family twice. I merged the duplicated individuals, and the ID numbers changed to the lower number, but on the focus window two marriages have appeared, albeit both with the same ID numbers for husbands wives and children. How do I correct this please?

You forgot to merge the Family Record, go to the Family Tab of the records window (View/Record Lists/Families) select both the family records and do the Edit/Merge Record option.
