Suddenly about 6 months ago when I opened Family Historian it was all taken over and only shown as MY HERITAGE, I know they alway notify us with smart matches we have in FH but how come they make your FH disappear? My son in law deleted it and got FH back but now as I needed to publish my tree again thru Family Tree Builder as they had my spouse incorrect and said I had to re do tree and republish which I did and now its only showing as MY Heritage?? what are you to do as I want FH but still like to get info on the smart matches, has this happened to anyone else???

I suspect all that happened was that My Heritage, associated it's self with .GED files. You should be able to 'take back' the association to FH, by right clicking and selecting open with and ticking the 'Always' option at the bottom when selecting FH.

On Windows 7 (and maybe other systems) there is an extra step.
Right-click on any .ged file and select Open with, then Choose default program, and tick Always use the selected program... before selecting Family Historian and clicking OK.
If Family Historian is not listed then Browse to C:Program Files (x86)Family HistorianProgramfh.exe and click Open.
Note that Program Files without the (x86) is an alternative possible folder.

Thank you Jane and Tatewise, just followed the steps as you said now back with FH, (always easy when you know how). Many thanks for the help.[smile]
