I have had a major crash and have reloaded my FH GEDCOM from an external hard drive. I have then saved it to the wrong location!! When I try to save it elsewhere I find that I seem unable to do so. I want to save it in my Family Historian Projects file but have inadvertently saved it to my backup file instead, when I hit the save icon it just saves it to the file there.
Help urgently needed for this 'anything to do with a computer' challenged user.[cry]

As you are talking about just a GEDCOM file I presume you have not been backing up your whole project folder?
If this is the case you will have lost any attached media for the Project. So you can simply open Family Historian and select New Project then when prompted for the GEDCOM file select the one you have recovered. FH will then create a new Project folder for you.

Is the file you are saving a *.zip Compressed (zipped) Folder with an icon that is a tabbed yellow folder with a zipper, or is it a *.ged Gedcom File with an icon that has three green boxes in a family tree?
If the former, then within FH use File > Backup/Restore > Restore and Open the Zipped File (*.zip) from your backup folder and then Save it to your project .fh_data folder.
If the latter, then Jane's suggestion should work.
