PDF problem

Post by History3 » 11 Apr 2011 11:22

Saves on one page but moves/shrinks tree to the left which then overlaps pictures and leaves gaps on the right. Added lines don't move with the tree but are left behind 'unlinked and in space'. HP Printer is set to Family Historian PDF. Pictures round edge appear to stay in situ.

Diagram statistics :
Pages = 12 (4 x 3)
Current Scaling = 100%
Diagram Size (excluding margins):
Width = 3' 9.16'
Height = 1' 10.78'
Page Size:
Width = 11.69'
Height = 8.27'
Printable Portion of Page (given margins):
Width = 11.12'
Advice appreciated.

1. Make sure you have V4.1 installed
2. Set the printer to FH PDF printer prior to saving to PDF.

Try setting to a large page size on the Printer set up and see if that helps.

I find that if I use the menu item Diagram > Save Diagram As... > PDF File (.pdf)... and then click on Adjust PDF File Page Size so that Diagram fits into One Page (if possible) the resulting PDF file contains my diagram without any shrinking or overlapping of images and with an added line exactly where it should be.  My Diagram Statistics are very similar (12 pages) and I didn't alter any printer or page settings.

Hello Everyone,
Thank you Jane and PeterR for your posts - I was already doing all that was suggested but no result.  After spending another frustrating session a 'click on a button' seems to have solved the problem - I hope so.  I usually work with the 'avoid page boundaries option' enabled.  Taking this option off and adjusting lines before saving as a PDF document has given a positive result with the added lines now staying in their set place. Such a simple solution!  I have not noticed anything about this in the program Help menu.  Thank you both for your quick responses, as I need to send to the printer this week.
