Diagrams - saving as .jpg, .gif, .png etc.

Hi,
I would very much like to see a feature whereby diagrams could be saved as a picture file such as a .jpg .gif .png .pdf etc.
Is there any chance of this happening in future upgrades?

This is alread fairly easy just paste the diagram into your favourite graphics package (even paint) and select save as.

How do I paste? Presumably you draw a text box around the entire diagram and cut. Unfortunately when I do this cut and copy are grayed out. Please help.

On the diagram menu select copy as . .
Then select the format you want.
Go to your graphics program and select paste.
You need 2.2.4 to do copies, so make sure you have the latest version.

Excuse me Lol, but could you please
rewrite your request in English then
this newby can understand your double
dutch. Just in case I may want to use
it when I know what you are talking
about, that is after I have learnt
how to use Family Historian.
The replies are as clear as mud, so they are not much help.

.jpg, .gif and .png are the three letters (extensions) found on the end of the file names of some popular formats for picture files. Lol would like to be able to save a picture of his/her family tree so that he/she can open it in a paint package or other application. Jane points out that a way to do this is to choose the 'Copy as' option. This then allows the picture to be pasted into another program such as a paint package.

I cannot find the 'Copy As' facility which allows different diagram format (ie .jpg etc).
Under the 'Diagram' drop-down menu there is a 'Copy Diagram' option but that only allows you to save it in 'Enhanced Metafile' or 'Bitmap' format.
I checked and I am using FH version 2.2.4

Brian, once pasted into a photo editing or other program you can select the format you want to save it in from there.

Grandma,
It is sometimes difficult to write in great detail in the time I have for this my 'hobby' site, much of the time I try to write to the level of the poster. This means that when talking to someone who is already working with diagrams, I simply point them in the right direction.
Once you have worked with FH for a while the double dutch may clear a little.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask, and if I write in double dutch ask for a clarification.

I am a photographer and have used digital images as part of my last job. Their manipulation was part of everyday tasks. Still miss the old darkroom though.
If anyone wants to ask questions about that kind of thing and if it would help take some of the pressure off Jane, then please feel free to ask me directly. I don't guarantee to be able to link things to FH but will try to hep with pictures, tree images etc.
Not trying to jump the gun, you understand but might as well make use of what I've learnt over the last 25 years while looking for a new job (redundancy!)
