I'd appreciate any guidance on this: I want to produce some small trees and save them as separate files for later insertion into a MS WORD document as a picture. I've done this before using Generations to good effect. However, with FH I can produce wonderfully sharp trees in pdf format, but none of the other options seem to be as crisp. Furthermore, all except the pdf format retain the little expansion buttons, which I'd rather not have. So, does anyone have any good experience I can learn from?
Many thanks.

If you don't want the expansion buttons you can turn them off in the diagram options.
For use in Word you might be better with the EMF format which is a vector based option, which resized dynamically.
Alternately make sure you have as Actual diagram size rather than as display size to ensure you have as much detail as possible. How ever depending on the final size you may need to ensure your image size is a best match, eg between 200 and 300 dpi for the final size or windows will resample the image leading to soft images.
