I have one. I've exported it to an .xml file and can email it to you if you like - camichael.fh1@gmail.com You may need to amend it to your own needs.
To be honest it was fairly easy to set up using the Census > Census Templates option.
Open up a census that looks fairly like what you want (1910 Canada?) and click on the COPY button. Change the date to 1916 and click on new and then the PASTE button.
Then fiddle about with the fields. Mostly I was happy with the defaults but for occasional fields I changed the RECORDING method to create a Local Note. I didn't bother with making any lists.

Nick,
I eventually decided to do my own template which worked fine on my copy of AS running on my Mac under Parallels. I used the export facility to save the XML file. But when Chris tried to load it AS crashed. If I send you the XML file could you have a look at it and see where the problem lies, please?
Thanks also to Chris for rising to the challenge.

Hi Gerry
Chris emailed it through to me last night. I haven't had time to investigate at all but it also crashed when I imported it. This is obviously my fault as A.S. should never crash! The good thing is that as it crashes for me I'll be able to track down the problem. Will look at this later when I get home.
Thanks
Nick

I've found the cause of this problem and it will be fixed in the next version of Ancestral Sources. In case anyone else experiences this problem, if you plan to import a template, before going into the Census Templates screen, first to go to the Census Countries screen (Tools->Census Countries). When the Census Countries screen opens you can just close it again but you should then find that importing templates works correctly.
Sorry about that and thanks to both of you for reporting it.

Jane,
I was trying to upload my AS template for the 1916 Canadian Census but the uploader won't accept XML files.

Jane asked me a couple of weeks ago if I wanted her to set-up an AS Census Template download section but I forgot to reply oops - sorry Jane. As Gerry suggests it would need to accept XML files.
