Gaelic(Welsh) speaking ancestors

Post by cynicalm » 28 Feb 2011 11:25

The only point that I have found in the present program is that it does not cover the 1891 and 1901 Scottish census question, 'speaks Gaelic(g) or Gaelic and English(g & e)'. Presumably the Welsh form will have a similar question.
While this is not a major issue, it is of interest to anyone with a Scottish(Welsh) ancestry.

That's why Ancestral Sources includes the facility to add or edit census templates so you can do this yourself. I know that a number of users have used this facility to create templates for a variety of other census records.

It also has the facility to import and export these templates. I really did hope that by now users would have begun to share templates they have created via this site.

Sorry! I tend to work on the principle that if I try to modify a good program it will bite and crash in flames.

Well I can't promise it won't crash (though no reports of problems with template editing). You can always reset the templates again back to the original installation settings if you do it wrong.

I can confirm that editing the census templates to cater for Welsh/English/Both works fine!
