Wish List Items for Family Historian
Hi All,
I am thinking of posting a poll, here for Wish List items.
However to that I need a list of things people want added or changed. Please give each one a short title for the Poll.
Once we have our list we can pass it on to Simon. So come on get posting. [wink]

Wish List Items for Family Historian
I've been collecting a few .. I'll give it a go:
* 'Is not Null' option in the Query builder
* Customizable event templates
I would like the ability to not only create a 'custom event', but to define what types of information should be contained in the event. For example, I would like to build a reusable event called '1880 US Census' that had fields for each item on the census form.
* Expanded Event Handling
I would like events treated the same way as notes .. with the ability to link an event to more than one record & an 'event' tab to go along with the individual/family/multimedia/notes tabs
* Dated Notes
I would like the ability to attach a date to the notes (this might be a moot point if the 'expanded event handling' option above were implemented)
* MultiMedia sources
I would like to be able to link a source note to muli-media records. I can add a multimedia object to a source, but not the other way around. Related to this ... if a multi-media object IS linked to a source record, then the source link should show up when viewing the properties of the multimedia object.
* Ability to display and sort by user defined columns in the records list.
(I think this one is already on the 'official' list.)
* Export to XML option

* Copy & Paste entire record branches
ie: once I've created an event for an individual census record, I would like to be able to copy the entire event branch and paste onto the next person named in the census event.
* Relationship Calculator

Speaking of reports - we all know 'reports' will be included, but what type?
Maybe a poll of the types of reports we'd like to see is in order .... here's a start on my list:
* Family Group Sheet (#1)
* Descendancy Register
* Ancestry register
* individual narrative detail
* family narrative detail

* Merge Duplicate functionality
I'd like to be able to run the merge/compare utility (or something like it) against a single file to merge/delete duplicates.
* 'Death of spouse' event
I'd like the death of a spouse to show up as a family event when I view events for an individual. Maybe an additional check box like the 'show birth/adoption' of children option on the events view.

Property Dialog:
In the Spouse section, I would like 'in' to replace 'Note' so where the spouse died can be shown and a new line for 'Note' inserted under 'Died'.
There can therefore be Notes on the Named person, the Spouse and the Marriage.
