Over the last number of years that I have used V3 and now V4 I have linked photos to files individually. I now find that in the Multimedia Window I have several photos which consequently appear the same number of times as there are people in the photo. My question is: Is it possible to merge these multimedia records?

You should be able to merge them using the Records Window Multimedia tab to select them and then selecting Edit/Merge Compare from the menu.
