Use of R/L Arrow keys

Nick,
When filling in the boxes, i.e. occupation, it gets annoying when the curser moves to the next box using the R/L arrows, specially when entering large ammounts of information.
Could you change it to the TAB key to move to the next box ?

It only moves to the next box if you press Right when you are at the end of the word in the cell. Similarly it only moves to the previous box when the cursor is at the start of the word and you press Left. I think this is standard behaviour for grid controls.
Just for interest there are other keyboard shortcuts...
Tab does already move to the next cell and Shift+Tab to the previous. Ctrl+Right moves to the next word in a cell, Ctrl+Left to the previous.
When you tab into a cell the text is highlighted. Either press the right arrow to take the highlight off or F2.

Saying that I checked with FH, the curser dosen't move to the next box when using the arrows, only when the TAB key is hit. Microsoft Excel is the same.

If I type in a cell in MS Excel and then hit right-arrow, the cursor jumps to the next cell to the right. The MS Excel Help file includes:
Arrow keys
Move one cell up, down, left, or right.

I'm not sure where FH uses a grid to enter data?

In my version of MS Excel, it is like AS, and moves from cell to cell whenever any arrow key is used.

I'm using Excel 2002. Agreed with the Cell Curser, but when I enter data in a cell then double click on the cell to edit the curser stays in the cell no matter which arrow I use.
I was just hoping AS would be the same as FH. Me eyes ain't what they were. [rolleyes]

The point I was trying to make is that Ancestral Sources does behave the same as Family Historian - all
text boxes have the left and right arrows moving the cursor within the text. Family Historian doesn't have a grid to enter data anywhere as far as I can see, but if it did I expect it would behave just like Ancestral Sources
. The grid is a standard Windows control and that is how it behaves, I've not programmed it to move the cursor to the next cell.
