Losing my Marbles.?

Post by alancoombs » 08 Feb 2011 10:48

I have been attempting to construct a custom query to include wedding.

HOWEVER, in my version(4),the fields list on left of query window, does not contain Wedding as an event.

BUT, when using sample project, The Munros', there, in the list is WEDDING !!!

In my own project there is event/attribute list which appears to contain all the available fields but I cannot find how to move a field from this list to query window list.

Any help gratefully received.

p.s. Please can we have smiley to represent 'Tearing my hair out.'

Marriage is a Family Event.  If you are building an Individual Query you need to expand the item Family as Spouse>> and then expand the item Events.  You can then either double-click on Marriage or highlight Marriage and click the > button at the bottom of the list.  Or you could first expand the Marriage item in order to select individual event fields.

Alternatively, you may find that a Query Type of Family or Fact may suit your needs better.

This is set on the Custom Queries > General tab.

Then for Family Queries you will find the Marriage event on the Columns tab under Family > Events.

For Fact Queries you will need a Rows Filter such as Add if =FactName(%FACT%) matches 'Marriage'.
