Sending a Diagram

Post by wales1 » 24 Jan 2011 19:12

I have read the article 'Saving as Pdf' but how do I save a Diagram so that I can take it to be printed on one sheet of paper? This, when the printing company does not have Family Historian installed

I am using version 4

Thank you for any help

Having created your Diagram use Diagram > Save Diagram As > PDF File (.pdf).
In the Save As PDF File popup window, click on more options for generating PDF files and read through the help, especially for Printing Large Charts.
Back in the popup window, enable Adjust PDF File Page File so that Diagram fits into One Page (if possible) and click OK.
In the Print window, click OK.
In the Family Historian PDF window, choose the File name and click OK.
This should produce an Adobe Reader PDF file with the entire diagram on one page, which you can send to the printing company.

If the diagram is VERY large and does not fit on one PDF page, then follow the advice in the help for Printing Large Charts above.

Tate

Many thanks for your help. The problem was, I could not see how to save as a PDF.
After some looking around I found that in the tool bar I had to go to 'Diagram-save as' and not 'file-save as' which for most programs is the normal way of saving a file.

So again, thank you, I got there in the end.

Colin
