Sources Tab Scrollbars
I have filled the Sources tab screen in the Records window but no scrollbars appear. The Individuals tab does have them.
What have I not done please?
[Edit]Sorry, vertical bars not horizontal, which is present
[Edit2] There appears to be a bug, the scrollbar only appears if the Records window/sources tab is full size, then click on a record and step down off the bottom. If the window is then restored down the scrollbar disappears until the same exercise is repeated. I am on Windows 7 in case it matters.
[EDIT 3] SORRY FOR THIS, it was caused because the inner window (records) when restored down was hanging below the outer FH main window (inside it), this was not easy to distinguish.
This raises a request! Is it possible to change the design in a future version so that the inner windows are detachable rather than all contained within the FH window?

If you get a problem again just use the Window/cascade menu option to tidy the windows, personally I never get the problem as I always use the windows maximised with in the main FH window.

I think donone has spotted a bug.
I default to FH Window Maximized with Focus inner-window as default and all inner-windows Maximised.
After FH starts, if I select the Individual Records - Records Window icon then there is NO vertical scrollbar.
I can select any Record type tab and still NO vertical scrollbar.
The same is true if I select View > Record Lists > and choose any Record type option.
I can select the main FH Window Restore Down and Maximize icons and still NO vertical scrollbar.
Only when I select the Records inner-window Restore Down icon does the vertical scrollbar appear!
However, if I then select Records inner-window Maximize icon, followed by the main FH Window Restore Down and Maximize icons, then the vertical scrollbar disappears again!

Postscript
If the Tools > Preferences > Startup > Display the Records Window, instead of the Focus Window, at Startup option is ticked, then the Records inner-window vertical scrollbar is shown at startup OK.
However, if I then select the main FH Window Restore Down and Maximize icons, the vertical scrollbar disappears, and all my earlier comments apply!
This problem does not seem to apply to any other types of inner-window such as Query, Diagram, or Report.
I am running FH V4.1.3 on Windows 7 Home Premium.

Thank you Jane, but I rarely use any window maximised.
Thanks tatewise I think that you put the problem more descriptively than I did. Once I found the scrollbar I didn't retest but it seems that the problem is still present but to see it one must go through the sequence again to get rid of it, before retesting.
Thank you for your concurrence.
I love this program's versatility, but it is the type of program that cries out for 'permission' to use two screens, but short of running two instances, it is locked in its outer shell.

PPS:
I have experimented with FH Demo V3.0.1 and this vertical scrollbar bug exists in that version too!

I have tried really hard, following all of tatewise's typically detailed instructions, but I cannot reproduce this problem on my laptop running XP Home Edition SP3. The only Records window tabs where the vertical scroll bar ever disappears are those with very few records, e.g. Repositories and Submitters.

Further to the scrollbars in the Sources window it also does not refresh properly. I had on screen a moment ago a misplaced section part way down, which had shifted left presumably when I moved it. Covering the window and then uncovering did not refresh it, nor did clicking within the window or clicking on one of the misplaced recored. I moved the window and everything normally associated with trying to refresh to no avail. It is as if the refresh (or invalidate) is not called in all the usual places in the program.
I installed a screen capture program to copy part of the window and it refreshed (sod's law). I have seen it before but only on this Sources tab, which shares a window with named lists.
I cannot be more specific except that it is to do with moving the inner window while part hidden by the outer.
Windows 7 Ult 64bit. FH 4.1.3
Perhaps someone else could look out for it.

Do you have the latest video drivers installed?

I have tried FH Demo V3.0.1 on a Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit PC, but it does not exhibit the scrollbar bug.
I suspect PeterR is using a Windows XP 32-bit PC, and it does not have the bug.
My main PC is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
So I guess the bug only arises on Windows 7 &/or 64-bit PC.
The attached image not only illustrates the Record Pane missing scrollbar bug, but also another strange effect in the Named Lists Pane, where parts of this pane display parts of the Record Pane! This happens when switching inner and outer windows between Restore Down and Maximized mode.

The picture you posted tatewise is exactly what I was describing in my last post except that it was in the left hand pane and disappeared while trying to capture.
There is definitely a problem.
