I want to merge two sources (dozens of entries in each).
Is there a way I can do it without having to identify each entry and manually modify (eg like locations where is there is an edit function).
TIA

Merging Sources
There is a 'low tech' method out side of FH.
1. Make a note of the source number you want to remove and the source number you want to keep.
2. Make a BACKUP of your file.
3. Close FH
4. Open your file in a text editor (textpad is good), try to avoid using word or similar.
5. Search the file for 0 @Syyy and delete the lines from 0 @Syyy to just before the next 0 @S line.
For example delete the lines in red if getting rid of source 1
2 DATE 2 JUL 2003
3 TIME 20:44:06
0 @S1@ SOUR
1 TITL Marriage Certificate
1 CHAN
2 DATE 14 SEP 2002
3 TIME 18:00:37
0 @S2@ SOUR
1 TITL 1881 Census
6. Use search and replace to replace all occurences of
@Sxxx@ with @Syyy@
where xxx is the source to remove and
yyy is the source to use.
Save the file. Load into FH and validate the file, then check all is as you wanted.
