Help from a previous post has solved entering sources and citations with one exception.
With a marriage I have two sources from BMD one for each of the partners marrying the other.
I can find no wiki help.
I actually added the source as before. Then I added the link to the marriage 'fact' not 'event' for one of the partners via the Add Citation button (the only way I could find). This showed one citation in the Source list.
When I did the same for the opposite partner, the citation also appeared but in the source list it showed zero citations.
[edit: this was because it does not update automatically as I expected and so is not a problem]
Under ALL there is no entry at all for the sources because there is no event for Marriage. Should I enter a new event and call it marriage? If not, what have I failed to grasp?
I appreciate that marriage is a shared event but it seems inconsistent regarding sources because it does not show in either individual ALL.
A little guidance would be appreciated please.
[EDIT 2] I guess it now comes down to...
is it correct to use Add Citation to add the two sources to a Marriage Fact and that the sources should not therefore be attached to individuals?

You seem to have answered most of your own questions. Firstly the correct GEDCOM terms are Events and Attributes which Family Historian calls Facts for simplicity - this is why you will tend to see these terms being used interchangably. A marriage fact is attached to a family record rather than an individual. So to your question 'is it correct to use Add Citation to add the two sources to a Marriage Fact and that the sources should not therefore be attached to individuals?' the answer is yes.

I just wanted to be certain in what seems to be an uncertain field. Thank you Nick
