I'm having trouble with some file names being too long in the 'Media' directory.
Will I encounter any problems with renaming 'Family Historian Projects' to say FHP?

No, but remember to use the Project Location option on the More Tasks button to move them. You might also want to rename your Projects themselves to shorter names, there is a rename project option on the More Tasks (in V4.1).
