How to E-mail copy of file

Post by LindafromMurton » 07 Nov 2010 23:40

I have done some research for my cousin and would like to e-mail her a copy of the project file I have set up. I tried sending a copy of the backup file but she could not open it (I understand she uses FH too).

Can anyone please tell me, step by step, how to send her a copy of the project file.

Many thanks.

For her to open the backup file, just tell her to select File/Backup Restore and then restore from the menu.

If you want to send the whole project including locally attached media, the simplest way is to go to My Documents and into the Family Historian Project Folder and right click on your project and select Send to>Compressed Folder. This will create a zip from your project which you can then right click on and select Send To>Email.

How ever if you have a lot of media attached the file may well be too big to send by email.

Your cousin should then be able to uncompress your project into her Family Historian Project folder.

Many thanks Jane for the information. I have copied it to her this morning and will let you know if she manages OK.

Kind regards - Linda[smile]
