I was looking for an old post of mine with some information in regarding flags. I did an 'Advanced Search' on 'User' and found I had only 11 previous posts. Against my profile I noticed my total posts was 30. The post I was looking for appeared to have had gone.
My question is 'Are posts archived periodically ?' and if they are, can I access this archive.
I joined the forum in 2003 and can find posts going back that far. The one I am looking for is much more recent so I am a little confused.

Yes, I archive some of the Forums, otherwise the site slows to a crawl. The General Forum is archived as are some other forums, you can see the ones which are archived by looking at the bottom of the forum message list, where if there is an archive you will see the words forum archive.

I found what I was looking for very quickly in the General Forum Archive. Having found the archive pages I used the 'Find' facility in Explorer, put my user name in the find box and paged through the archive. On each page I clicked the 'Next' button on Explorer to refresh the search and it quickly found my archived posts I was looking for.

Please (if and when you have time) would it be possible to have an additional Advanced-Search tick-box to enable optional searching of the Forum Archives? There may well be useful information somewhere in the older postings in the General, Version 3 Usage, and Processed Wish List Requests forums.
