I have just created a custom attribute for having a pet. I must be the saddest person on here. I could argue that they are an important part of the family (especially when we have 12 dogs and 4 cats), and that it gives more depth to the people on the tree, but it's really so that I can add their photos into FH4. Of course, finding evidence of pets beyond my grandparents is likely to be tricky [rolleyes]

I always prefer to use an standard Attribute if possible.  In this case Possessions should be suitable.

Or if pets are really important to you, you could create them as individuals in your tree and add them as associated individuals or even as your children if you're really sad
