As a relative new user of FH.please excuse what may be a simple question.As I have a lot of certificates(but with some gaps) is it possible to show on a diagram if I have an individuals birth or marriage certificate rather than looking through a file of certificates.This would help when doing researching births etc as I would see at a glance if I already had the required certificate.
Or is it possible to show on a diagram I have a scanned image of that persons certificates.

This is normally done using Flags and Icons.
First you flag the people you have certificates for, depending on how you have sourced the information you may well be able to use a query to do this.
Then add icons to show on the diagram where the sources exist.

Displaying information on Diagrams
I use flags on diagrams to show I have copies of certificates. I use a red 'ball' shape for birth certs, green for marriages and black for deaths. I find it very useful to see at a glance which ones I have.
I also use a little cross (like a grave marker) for those who have died young. Then I can see at a glance why they have no descendants.

A technique I use only enters BMD Event Dates as follows and avoids the need for flags, etc.
(1) Enter questionable Dates as Calculated or Approximate or Estimated.
(2) Enter the Quarter Date or Month Date only when the GRO Index has been obtained.
(3) Enter the Full Date (day & month & year) only when the Certificate has been obtained.
Then on diagrams the Date Format clearly differentiates the three states above.
Any Date (even a full date) followed by (cal) or (app) or (est) is questionable (1).
Any Date with the Year prefixed by Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4, or Month but no day, indicates the GRO Index has been obtained (2).
Only a Full Date indicates the Certificate has been obtained (3).
I also have a Query that helps identify the above three states for each BMD Event for each Individual, if you are interested.
The same functions I use in the Query may also be usable in Diagrams to adjust their colour, etc.
These functions look for Media Files in particular folders linked to a BMD Event Source to determine the status.
