I am having to change from Windows to Mac for a specific graphic design reason.
I understand that Fh doesn't run on the Mac software.
I have two questions:-
1. Is their a 'book' facility in FH from which I can print all my names (yup, I know it would be long and use a lot of ink and paper)

2. Has anyone had to do a similar change? I assume that the Gedcom files would transfer to Mac software although I understand that there is limited choice in FH software for the Mac.

I'm no expert on Apple and its software.

However, I do know one can use Windows-based software on a Mac with Apple's own software, Boot Camp.

Have a look at the following:

or http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1461

Stating the obvious, have you considered using a PC just for FH?

I'm sure other contributors will be able to help further.

Rather than Boot camp, Parallels is a much better system as you can run a PC virtual machine for Windows/FH and still have full use of the MAC at the sametime.

As far as a Book Facility, are you just after a 'list' of names or more details on the people ? You can do a list via exporting the results of a query and then loading that into a spreadsheet or text document. If you are looking at more details, then FH has a number of different report styles that you can use.
