Adding Flags

I am not very good at creating queries, although can edit an existing one, and would like some assistance as follows:
Whenever I get a certificate (B.M or D) I enter the information in the 'Text from Source' and then enter 'copy of xxx cert' in the Notes.
I would like a query which would detect this Note and add the relevant flag ( I have created the flags and can enter them from the Edit menu, but thought this mat be a better way)

Can I just confirm you are not creating Sources for your certificates, but using a single source for all Certificates?

I use General Records Office as a generic source and then enter the index details in 'Where within source' and the certificate details in 'Text from source'.

I am sure that I downloaded a query that did this, but can't find it now.

It will be more difficult for you if all your certificates are on a single source (otherwise the individuals linked to source would have done the trick), rather than having one for each of the certificate types, but you could try simply building a query for each of the 3 types, selecting Births where the Source for the Birth is your GRO Source and then use the result set to set your flag

In the end I used the 'Contains Text' query, entered what I wrote in the Notes ('copy of xxx cert') and then set the flag.

It worked!
