Is this the first time you've run Ancestral Sources?
Can you check if the folder 'Ancestral Sources' exists in your My Documents?
Within that folder is there a sub folder called 'Settings'?
Can you check that you have permissions to write data into
that folder (e.g. try saving a file in there)?
If the answer to all the above is 'Yes' then try deleting the folder (Ancestral Sources) and then run A.S. again.
Please let me know how you get on

It was a 'YES' to all including the re-installation which went ahead without triggering an error message.
Thanks again for your help.
Looking forward to exploring this new software and seeing how it develops.
Is it safe to Uninstall Gedcom Census now?
