I have obtained a wealth of information on my family history/tree from a now deceased relative. I think some of the dates and names etc. are correct, but know some of them not to be.
If I enter all the details, is there any way I can 'mark' the info. I have not yet been able to verify independently, so that I know what further work to do?
Obviously once I have verified/amended as necessary, I would then want to be able to 'unmark' the data so I know it is correct.
[rolleyes]

How to indicate Suspect Data/Information
For any information I receive from other sources with a source of the person I got it from. Remember any information item can have more than one source.
You could in this case may be two sources would be good.
eg
Uncle Fred (un-verified)
and
Uncle Fred (verified)
Then as you confirm an item you can swap the source over to the verified one.
In addition you can turn on auto-source as you key the information ensuring any new information gets the unverified source and in future use the record links to work on building lists of people with unverified information.

How to indicate Suspect Data/Information
I'd like to use coloured text to indicate suspect information, so that it is easily flagged up as needing verifying, rather than adding a note or a qualifier. I know you can change colours in diagrams, by the way, but I'd like to use it in all the records. For example, I might have made an educated guess that a branch of a family was linked to the verified tree, but cannot be sure. All the people in the unverified branch could have green text, or whatever, so that they would be obvious in the alpha listing. Or I might want to check an address again from a source [red!]
I thought coloured text had been requested before, but I can't find it in the wish list.
